The Cool of the Day

The temperatures have dropped over the last few days and the air is cool and crisp and I love it! To rise early in the morning, that's a relative term by the way, and to feel the air on your skin is an awesome experience.

This morning I was up before sunrise and as I was walking to my vehicle I noticed the stars and the clear sky. I looked up and realized the beauty is always there even if I don't notice it. The stars just shine and shine and shine whether or not I appreciate them or not. Our own Sun, the star that keeps us alive on the whole planet has been doing it's thing for years and years, and yet we, I take it for granted.

The Psalmist knew that the heavens were there declaring the work of the Lord God. "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork." Psalm 19:1 You can almost see him sitting back in the cool of the evening, watching over his sheep, and looking up at the sky, sitting next to a small fire and realizing how awesome our God is.

The phrase of cool in the evening comes to us from the book of Genesis as God would come and walk in the garden to talk to Adam and Eve. God came to Adam and Eve to have a conversation, a relationship, a friendship with them and God is the one that came to them.

God still comes to man today in the form of his One and Only Son Jesus Christ. The power of the Holy Spirit of God is walking, moving, and crying out to us still today to have a relationship with the Father through the Son.

Why all this talk about the relationship thing? Well it's all about relationship with a holy and perfect God and because he is perfect he had to cleanse man kind of sinfulness so they can have that relationship with God.

So today, tomorrow, the next or whenever it gets cool again realize that it can be at that moment that you can look to the skies and see God's handiwork or you can also just talk to him. You see God is wanting, desiring and changing even nature so you will notice him and move to a relationship with him.

Go get a sweater and enjoy the coolness of the day in the presence of the Father.
